What Makes the Number Trustworthy

Seven things Kompound does so that when the Income Statement says Net Profit, you can act on it.

Refund Date Treatment, Your Call

Count refunds on the day they were paid out, to match your bank — or on the day of the original Order, to match your Cohorts. One switch, and the Report always says which is on.

Every Cost Dated

Change a supplier price today and your Margin changes from today. Last quarter stays exactly as it was.

A Source on Every Line

Each Cost line tells you where its number came from — Shopify, entered by you, imported, or your Default Margin — and from which date.

“Not Set” Is Never $0

If you haven’t given us a Cost yet, the line says so. We never fill the gap with a zero that makes your Margin look better than it is.

Profit on Every Order

Every Order carries its own Margin after fulfillment. Filter by Channel, country, tag or Margin band to see exactly where Profit leaks.

Global Filters

Keep test Orders, wholesale and staff purchases out of your financial Reports without deleting a thing.

Ask From Claude or ChatGPT

Ask “why is Net Profit down this week?” through Kompound MCP and get the Income Statement’s own figures, with a link to the Report.

Profitability Questions

Will Net Profit match my accounting software?

It's a management view, not a filed account. The two settings that align it are Refund Date Treatment and how you classify Personnel — both are yours to set, and both are stated on the Report.

How is COGS estimated before I enter Costs?

From the Default Margin you set on day one. The Report footnote always tells you what share of COGS is still an estimate, so you know how much to trust it.

Can I see Profit for a single Order?

Yes. The Orders Report carries CM2 Margin per Order, with a deep link to that Order in your own Store admin.

Does Forecasting use my data or a generic curve?

Yours. Existing Customers are rolled forward on your Store's own LTV curve, and new Customers come from planned Spend divided by your own CAC.
